I particularly like writing about subjects that involve a bit of research, because I find that, almost everywhere I go, there is something new to discover, or at least a new way to look at things I thought I understood. So I share those with my readers. I do, occasionally, write standard travel pieces about where I went, what I did and what I had for breakfast, but not often because I believe the places I visit, the things I see, and the people I meet are more interesting than how they made me feel.
