Well, this was fun. I wrote seven chapters of this book, and spent a lot of time on the road. It’s kind of mesmerising. I love driving on quiet country roads – especially at night, with no street lights, and with the car radio turned off. It’s an almost Zen-like contemplative experience. But, of course, road trips are not really about finding yourself in the dark while contemplating your navel. They’re about the great scenery, the interesting people, the fab little studios or restaurants, and the quiet little towns. And that’s what you’ll find in this book.
